We here at SMR Computer Services pride on getting the best bang for your buck without having to sacrifice quality and reliability. You've probably heard many horror stories of completely unreliable PC's; that crash consistently and are pretty much good for the trash. The most common reasons for these types of stability issues involve faulty hardware, poor cooling and/or hardware which do not work well together. Poorly written software drivers for hardware components can also be a source of instability PC's. The aforementioned reasons should make you realize that buying good components from companies which are dedicated to their products is very important not only for overall stability but for continued driver support as well.

With that said, we have established the SMR Recommends™ section as a guideline on what we believe is the best system you can buy within three distinct price categories. The Budget PC must be $1000 or less, the Mid-Range PC must be under $2000 and the dream machine really has no limit, but we'll try to keep it under $5000. When we say the "best system" in a certain price range, we imply the best mix of reliability, performance and manufacturer support.
